Learning That Fits – Do More with Less

Those who love to spend time at the gym don’t tend to struggle through a 6-hour workout once a month, they go regularly for shorter periods of time to build stamina and by doing so notice gradual and improved levels of fitness.

The same concept can be applied to learning.

Bite size or micro learning really is as simple as it sounds. Small bite size chunks of learning that has a very targeted objective.

E-learning enables L&D Professionals to give people the autonomy to both manage their own learning and to fit it into their daily workflows which matches the reality of peoples busy working life. Now that’s not to say that e-learning can replace face to face learning but that it is built into your L&D strategy and face to face events are not necessarily the default style of training like it once was.

Bite size learning isn’t just about shoe horning lots of content into less time. There is a common mis conception regarding our attention span, and that we can’t keep our attention for long periods of time, but how many of us have binged watched a Netflix series one episode after another because we are so hooked?

We as humans have the ability to do this but we need to be engaged, we need to want to know what’s next, and we need to recognise the value in what we are consuming. It is therefore less about attention and more about focus.

Focused and on demand e-learning reflects the needs of the modern workforce. It’s accessing key information and learning key messages that we can then implement straight back into the workplace. People like it when we get to the point!
